The Wandering Silver Mercenary II (流離う白銀の傭兵 Ⅱ) is the third chapter of Skeleton Knight In Another World Manga.
Summary[]
A woman arrives at the home of Marca and Helina and his shocked by the news when the younger sister tells the woman that Marca went into the forest to gather herbs. Worried, the older woman prays for Marca to be safe.
In the forest,Arc seeing the monster quickly gets Marca to safety before it could smash her to the ground. Looking at the beast the knight recognizes it as a Giant Basilisk. The knight proceeds to take out his sword and fight the monster putting himself between her and its attacks. The basilisk uses a ranged attack of [Stone Gaze], but Arc blocks it with a skill of his own and uses [Judgment] to .cut down the creature.
Marca is amazed by Arc's ability, but the knight brushes her praise and turns to the minor injury she sustain on her leg and uses magic to heal her. The mercenary asks Marca if the basilisk has been around the area for long, only to be told by the girl that this was the first time she saw it in the forest. The only beast that she is aware of that is causing havoc near the village is the Fanged Boar. As it so happens they two come across it.
Later back in Rita Village, the woman who came to Marca's house is revealed to be her mother. Upon seeing Marca return safely to the village she embraces her. Arc apologizes for the trouble he caused in allowing her into the forest without her permission, despite Marca's protests that it was her own fault. Marca' mother thanks Arc nonetheless for keeping her safe.
When asked if they encountered anything dangerous in the forest, Arc decides to lie to her so that that he doesn't worry her. This relieves the woman as lately there have been rumors of a giant beast in the forest, and that soon a subjugation team from the lord will be sent in a few days to handle it.
The Fanged Boar that was encountered by Marca and Arc is revealed to have been hunted down by the latter, trussed and brought back to the village, where the villagers eagerly gather around it. Arc gives the beast's corpse to the village, only asking for the tusk and mana stone, while the pelt is given to Marca's family.
Arc is seen off by Marca and her mother, with the young girl asking if he will visit again, which he promises. Before he leaves Arc also asks Marca to keep the incident with the basilisk just between the two of them. After he left and returned to Luvierte, Arc spotted the subjugation team heading to the village, but since there was no danger anymore, Arc turned to his own focus on finding a goal.
A few days later, several armed men are seen fighting against a Giant Basilisk until it is finally slain. So far their causalities are listed as three dead and eleven injured, but is relatively lower than expected. The captain though is informed by a man in his unit that a corpse of another Giant Basilisk was found. Since the wound dealt to it looked like a weapon and the mana stone is gone, the captain suspect someone killed it. His suspicions turn to the elves, though Rita Village is some distance away from the Great Canada Forest. This makes him wonder if someone with the strength of an army could have done it. Back in Luvierte, Arc sneezes as he is viewing the job board.
